In its most recent edition, the nation’s first and only undergraduate research journal in communications delves into an array of media-related topics, including how organizations use social media to engage consumers and cultivate support for causes.

The School of Communications internship director is set to retire on Dec. 13 concluding an 11-year tenure spent preparing Elon University students for professional work experiences.

Ben Hannam, associate professor of communication design, and his Design of Visual Images students incorporated augmented reality into their interactive posters now on display in Schar Hall.

During educational trainings with Elon University faculty on Nov. 19, Bloomberg Market Specialist Alex Wisch highlighted the financial data terminals’ functionality and ability to monitor news updates and analyze real-time financial market data.

Assistant Professor William Moner’s Communicating Media Insights class presented digital marketing and e-commerce analysis and strategies to Elon alumnus Ian Baltutis ’08 and Kristina Baltutis, owners of Palmoro USA.

During the initiative’s Nov. 11 dinner, students spoke with the managing partner of KLH & Associates and chairman of The LAGRANT Foundation.

During the two-day trip, 36 School of Communications students visited media outlets and Elon alumni in Atlanta as part of their first-year fellows experience.

Elon alumnae Nicole Friend ’15 and Brooke Muller ’19 visited campus on Oct. 29, meeting with three classes as well as Live Oak Communications students, and hosting an interactive workshop and informational session.

The associate professor of strategic communications was one of four members on the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications accreditation site visit team to evaluate the University of Idaho in October.

The Public Relations Society of America, the nation’s leading professional organization serving the communications community, presented the accolade during its 2019 International Conference on Oct. 21 in San Diego.
