For their efforts organizing the SPJ Region 2 conference, Associate Professor Anthony Hatcher and Director of Student Media Colin Donohue were named the organization's Members of the Month.

The Society of Professional Journalists Region 2 gathering featured the Mark of Excellence Awards results, of which several Elon students were winners.

The Elon University yearbook staff invited Jen Bladen, a professional consultant, to campus on Feb. 4 to discuss design principles, publication trends and marketing strategies.  

A pair of communications faculty members and a senior discussed the Elon News Network, which was recognized with several awards at the College Media Association gathering.

Two alumni and a student also lead sessions at the conference, which was held Oct. 20-23 in Washington, D.C.
