Elon Poll: N.C. residents cynical about politicians

North Carolinians lack much trust or faith in politicians, and a majority of citizens question the intent of elected officials to serve the public interest, according to the latest Elon University Poll.

Elon University is celebrating International Education Week this week with a series of campus events that include guest speakers, art installations, movie screenings and a food festival. The activities, which run Nov. 16-20, focus on the Middle East, the theme of a 2009 program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education.

Forty-three students from Elon University School of Law were recognized Nov. 19 with the Greensboro Bar Association's annual pro bono award for providing free tax return preparation assistance to elderly and low-income residents of Greensboro.
Lindner Hall receives LEED Gold certification

Martha S. and Carl H. Lindner III Hall, the new administrative home for Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the ‘greenest’ building on campus, has received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, a national recognition for design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.

Elon to break ground on Alumni Field House

Elon University will break ground Saturday on Alumni Field House, a new 30,000-square-foot facility to be built adjoining the north end zone of Rhodes Stadium. The Nov. 14 groundbreaking will precede the afternoon football game between the Elon Phoenix and the Appalachian State Mountaineers. The university’s board of trustees has named the field house to honor all Elon alumni.
