When Assistant Professor Heather Scavone steps down from Elon Law in October for a legal position in the federal government, Katherine Reynolds, Elon Law’s Clinical Practitioner in Residence, will serve as interim director of the Humanitarian Immigration Law Clinic.

The university's Board of Trustees is hosting a wide variety of celebratory events surrounding the Oct. 18 presidential inauguration. 

The center, named for Elon parents Eric and Lori Sklut P'14, has become the focus for Jewish life on campus since it was dedicated in 2013. 

The concert, which will feature special guest Quinn XCII, will be the first to be held in Elon's new Schar Center. 

The events were postponed due to the arrival of Hurricane Florence in North Carolina. 

The contest, originally to be held at William & Mary on Saturday, Sept. 15, was canceled due to Hurricane Florence.

The celebration will feature events through Oct. 15 and is organized by Elon's El Centro de Español and focuses on the histories, cultures and contributions of the Hispanic and Latinx communities to the United States. 

Other events slated for this week will take place as campus operations and classes resume. 

The School of Communications dean will be one of six public relations professionals honored at a Dec. 3 ceremony in New York City.

Elon University earns 34 badges for excellence in rankings based on the outcomes of a college education. Five academic programs are ranked in the top 5 percent nationwide.
