Visit to TS Designs provides insight into triple bottom line business model
Eric Henry, president and CEO of TS Designs, discussed with Elon students how his company’s business focuses on people, the planet and profits.
The Elon Entrepreneurship Living Learning Community and friends visited TS Designs, a local business that prints environmentally responsible T-shirts, on May 5 to learn how the company applies the triple bottom line business model.
The group toured the facility and met with Eric Henry, president and CEO of TS Designs, who spoke about the company’s sustainability initiatives and business model.
TS Designs has pioneered the use of a water-based dye process to produce its products in a more sustainable way. The company uses the triple-bottom-line business model, focusing on three equally important bottom lines: people, the planet and profits.
TS Designs sells largely to local, environmentally and socially-conscious businesses and organizations that make up The Green Movement, but also prints for any organization looking for a locally-made, better quality product with a better environmental and social impact.
The Entrepreneurship Living Learning Community provides a residential space for students who share a desire to develop their entrepreneurial thinking. The space fosters a collaborative environment encouraging dialogue and idea sharing among students.
