The primary goal of the Porter Family Professional Development Center is to assist business students and alumni with self-assessment (exploring interests, abilities, values, and personality style), exploration of academic majors (accounting, economics, finance, management, international business, marketing and entrepreneurship majors), career exploration, job searches, graduate program searches, networking, and creating and executing an action plan to secure a job or admission into a graduate program.

In recent years, business majors and alumni have been hired at Wells Fargo, BB&T, PNC, Discovery Communications, CBS Sports Online, AOL, Proctor & Gamble, EMC, Oracle, Credit Suisse, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs,, Northrop Grumman, Bank of America, Ernst & Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte and Touche, KPMG, Bridgestone, Kraft Foods, the U.S. Census Bureau, Department of the Navy, IBM, and more.

Employers interested in hiring LSB students are invited to post job and internship announcements using the
Elon Job Network (EJN) and join the Elon Mentor Network (EMN).

Attention Seniors - In order to graduate, LSB seniors are required to meet with a Porter Center professional development advisor before graduation.
