Information for Families

 

Elon Academy Family Council. The Elon Academy Family Council is comprised of three families from each cohort of Elon Academy scholars. The Family Council serves as a governing group to represent the voices of all Elon Academy families. They assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Elon Academy programs and services. Meet the  Elon Academy Family Council.

Elon Academy Family Network. When Elon Academy scholars are accepted into the Elon Academy, all family members become a part of the Elon Academy Family Network. The Elon Academy staff provides five Saturday Programs each year for the Elon Academy Family Network on various topics, such as advocating for your son/daughter, financial planning, and college preparation tools. The Elon Academy staff also invites the Elon Academy Family Network on campus for various special programs during the year, such as athletic events, cultural events, and dinners. The Elon Academy staff works closely with the Elon Academy Family Network to provide resources and tools so they can help their sons and daughters.

Scholar applications. Scholar applications will be accepted in the fall of each year. If you know of a current 9th grader who might be eligible for the Elon Academy please encourage her/him to review our scholar application information.  Parents of eligible 9th graders should review our parent application information (Spanish version).

Summer schedules and course descriptions. Summer 2010 schedules are available so that you can view our scholars' daily activities. If you would like to visit while the Elon Academy is in session, please review our visitation guidelines. All visits must be scheduled in advance. Elon Academy Handbook. The Elon Academy Handbook provides information regarding important dates, scholar privileges and responsibilities, expectations for dress and behavior, emergency information and other important information for scholars and their families.

Upcoming Events. Throughout the year there will be a number of events that will be open to Elon Academy scholars and their families. Some of these events will be open to the public. If you are interested in participating in one of these events, please contact

Planning for College. The mission of the Elon Academy is to prepare Academy scholars and their families for college acceptance and college success. We have gathered numerous resources that may be helpful in planning for college.

Scholars. Each year we will accept a new cohort of rising 10th graders from Alamance County. Our Elon Academy scholars are a diverse, talented, and highly motivated group of students.
