All Elon Academy mentors are current college students or recent alumni who are Elon University students and/or Elon Academy college scholars. Elon Academy mentors serve as role models for Elon Academy scholars through interaction inside and outside of the classroom. Elon Academy mentors live in the residence halls with the scholars, serve as a teaching assistant in an academic course, and assist with the planning and implementation of field trips, college visits, evening curriculum, and other engaging aspects of the Elon Academy. For the 2023 three-week residential summer program, Elon Academy mentors will also serve as peer group leaders. The role of the peer mentor is central to our work with the HS students. You would be assigned a peer group to lead for the entire 3 weeks. This is an important opportunity for you to develop deep relationships with these near-peers and to have a substantial impact on their lives. If interested, please check in the 2023 spring semester for the application and info sessions.
