The Mathematics and Statistics Department at Elon University seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professorof Mathematics specializing in mathematics education to begin mid-August 2014. The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate by August 2014 in mathematics education or mathematics with a strong emphasis in education. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in diverse public school settings, as well as a record of collaborative work within these settings.
The successful candidate will teach courses for pre-service teachers in mathematics content, secondary mathematics methods, and additional 100-level core courses such as General Statistics, Applied Calculus, or Calculus I (depending on qualifications). Candidates must also be willing to supervise student teachers, mentor undergraduate research, and teach courses in Elon’s General Studies Program. Candidates must demonstrate a record of, or potential for, a program of high quality scholarly activity.
