STATISTICS EXPERIENCE POINTS COMPETITION WINNERS!

We held our first ever statistics experiences raffle at our annual department senior celebration, and two statistics majors won $25 gift cards. Each “point” submitted counted as an entry into the raffle. Thus far, we have had 19 students submit a total of 61 statistics experiences! The most common submissions are for completing additional capstones, tutoring statistics, presenting locally, obtaining a professional certification, and participating in a data competition.

Skye Cady‘s NCUR presentation (Statistical Modelling of Alaskan Coral Biodiversity) was one of the two experiences selected in the raffle. Skye is one of four students who has earned at least 10 “points” in this new system, which boosted her chances of winning.

Want to increase your chances for our next raffle (held in the Fall semester)? Submit your statistics experiences now before you forget! Experiences can be submitted through this short form using this link. For more information about the statistics senior comprehensive evaluation, please see this link or talk with your advisor!
