General Information:
What accounts
are on The Phoenix Card?
Phoenix Cash, Food Dollars, Meal Plan Count (part of
the meal/board plan) and Meal Dollars (part of the
meal/board plan). Separate from these on campus
accounts, you can set up a Wachovia Free Student
Checking Account and make your Phoenix Card also be
your Wachovia ATM card.
How are the
accounts used?
The Phoenix Cash account can be used in all sales
locations on campus and can also be used at
participating off campus locations. The Food Dollars
account can only be used at on campus dining locations.
Meal Plan Count and Meal Dollars can only be used at on
campus dining locations. The balance on Meal Dollars
must be spent by the end of spring semester or it
expires.
The Wachovia Free Student Checking Account will give
you the capability to withdraw funds from your Wachovia
checking account at ATMs and make debit (PIN based)
transactions at off-campus merchant locations (i.e. gas
stations, grocery stores and any merchant that accepts
debit transactions requiring PIN entry).
Funds on the Wachovia account and Phoenix Cash
account cannot be transferred to each other.
Which accounts
can be used at off campus merchants?
Only the Phoenix Cash account is accepted at
participating off campus locations. Visit our
Off Campus Locations
section for a current list of participating merchants.
Watch for announcements of new merchants to this
program. Meal Plan Dollars and Food Dollars are
not accepted off
campus.
Do I lose any
funds if its not spent by the end of the school
year?
Only the Meal Dollars account is "use it or lose
it". Any balance at the end of the spring semester
on the Meal Dollars account expires. A fixed amount is
deposited to the Meal Dollars account at the beginning
of each semester based on the meal plan in which you
are enrolled. This account can be used at any dining
location on campus. Only the Meal Dollars account is
"use it or lose it". Any balance at the end
of the spring semester on the Meal Dollars account
expires. A fixed amount is deposited to the Meal
Dollars account at the beginning of each semester based
on the meal plan in which you are enrolled. This
account can be used at any dining location on campus.
Do meals roll
over from week to week?
Every Wednesday students will receive a new allotment
of meals for the week. The number of meals depends on
the plan in which the student is enrolled. Any unused
meals from the previous week WILL roll over to the
following week. Meals roll over from week to week until
the end of a semester at which time any remaining meals
are eliminated.
If I go to an on

automatically spent first since they are "use it
or lose it"?
Always tell the cashier which account (Meal Plan
Count, Meal Dollars, Food Dollars or Phoenix Cash) you
want to use.
