W-1. New Faculty (full-time) Session with H.R. (8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.)

Location: Isabella Cannon Room, Center for the Arts

Representatives from the Office of Human Resources will begin benefits orientation for all new full-time faculty members. Benefit enrollment forms will be given and discussed at this time. New faculty members who have not submitted the required documents (social security card, driver’s license, deposit slip, voided check, etc.) or have not completed the new hire paperwork packet should bring the aforementioned documents to this meeting. Your passport will satisfy the I-9 form; however, the social security card is needed for payroll purposes.
NOTE: Previous Elon adjuncts who are now changing to full-time faculty status should also attend this session.

This meeting is for all faculty and staff interested in learning about the Periclean Scholars program in general and in particular about the role of the Class Mentor.  There will be a short presentation about the history of the program with a special focus on how various faculty have uniquely embraced the personal and professional challenges involved in Mentoring a Class of Periclean Scholars.  Questions and discussion will be encouraged.

This four-hour program, offered by the Office of Inclusive Community Well-Being and certified Anti-Defamation League Facilitators, will help anyone who wants to interact more positively and productively with their students and colleagues from a variety of backgrounds in the classroom and across campus.  Participants will explore a deeper understanding of others' experiences and develop communication skills to use in the office, classroom and campus community when it comes to navigating difference and celebrating diversity.

Intended Audience: Elon staff and faculty who have not already attended an "ADL, A Campus of Difference" program

Discussion will center on updated Elon policies and procedures for student organizations and how you can help your leaders traverse the system. W-16.  Open  house and ribbon cutting for the Center for Access and Success at Elon (5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.)

Location:  Center for Access and Success, Mooney 302.

Join President Lambert for a ribbon cutting and open house for the new Center for Access and Success. The Center includes offices for the It Takes a Village Project, The Elon Academy, Collegiate Start, and The Watson and Odyssey Scholars Program.
