The Multicultural Center welcomes LGBTQ students, faculty and staff including advocates and allies who celebrate pride, diversity, individuality, and sexuality. The Multicultural Center prides itself on serving as a safe haven for students on campus and in the community. The Center recognizes the tremendous difficulties of living in a society where heterosexuality is guarded as the only acceptable orientation.
Through diversity education initiatives such as Safe Zone and DEEP Impact training partnered with annual programs and events such as Coming Out All Over, Tunnel of Oppression, Pride Week, and Difficult Dialogues, the Multicultural Center serves as a learning community for understanding and support of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer students, faculty and staff. Moreover, the Center aims to promote the full inclusion of students, faculty and staff of diverse populations who are disadvantaged because of their sexual orientation.

The LGBTQIA Office at Elon collaborates with various offices on campus to further a welcoming and supportive environment for members of the LGBTQ community and provide educational and social programming for the campus. The office is dedicated to serving the entire Elon community, including students, faculty, staff, alumni and visitors, with information, support, community groups and other resources.
Spectrum is a queer-straight student alliance fighting homophobia and heterosexism at Elon University and beyond. By defining ourselves as a queer-straight alliance, we are reclaiming the word "queer" and attempting to be fully incluvsive of all non-normative sexual and gender identities. We recognize the importance of allies in our work and encourage straight students to get involved. Spectrum seeks both to support and advocate for queer students in order to build a stronger community at Elon.
