Physics major receives national scholarship

Elon University junior Helen Meskhidze received a scholarship through the national Society of Physics Students.

Elon junior Helen Meskhidze has received the Science Systems and Applications Inc. (SSAI) Academic scholarship in the amount of $2,000 for her scholarly research activities and commitment to Elon University’s chapter of the Society of Physics Students.

Meskhidze is currently the president of the SPS chapter and develops team-building activities, coordinates guest lectures, and encourages fellow students to present their research.

The Honors Fellow and university Lumen Scholar was one of only a few physics majors nationwide chosen for the scholarship based on her high scholarly performance, potential for continued scholastic achievement in physics, and active participation in Elon’s SPS chapter.
