Brig. Gen. Robert Tenhet ’84 to lead the National Capital Medical Directorate

The Elon alumnus was among  five senior Army officers who received new assignments Aug. 14.

U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Robert Tenhet ’84 has been assigned as director of the National Capital Medical Directorate, Defense Health Agency, in Arlington, Va., the U.S. Department of Defense announced Friday.

Prior to that assignment, Tenhet served as commanding general of the Northern Regional Medical Command, overseeing all U.S. Army health care facilities on the eastern seaboard, and as the executive officer of the Office of the Army Surgeon General.

Tenhet graduated from Elon in 1984 with a degree in accounting and was commissioned in the Medical Service Corps as a distinguished military graduate. He later earned master’s degrees from the U.S. Army-Baylor University Graduate Program (healthcare administration) and the U. S. Naval War College (national security in strategic studies).
