In a special section on the future of education, The New York Times cited Elon's Master's in Interactive Media program as an example of a highly specialized program leading the way in master's level education.
The articles note nearly twice as many master’s degrees were awarded in 2008 than in 1980, and that graduates of master’s programs feel the degree sets them apart in a crowded job market.
Elon launched the Master of Arts in Interactive Media program in summer 2009. Students begin coursework during the summer and graduate in May following completion of the full-time program.
