School of Communications assistant professor Phillip Motley presented at the Association for Computing Machinery-International Collegiate Programming Contest May 28-29 in Orlando, Fla. Associate professor Amanda Sturgill was also in attendance to provide web-based coverage of the events.
Motley presented a co-authored paper titled “Micro-Mentoring in the Collaborative Learning Environment” at the academic conference accompanying the contest. Sturgill served as the story content producer as part of the digital media team that provided coverage of the contest. Bettina Johnson, a 2011 graduate of Elon’s Interactive Media master’s program, worked alongside Sturgill.
The ACM-ICPC is a computing contest that includes top teams from six continents and is sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery and by IBM. Coverage of the activities could be viewed online at http://icpc.baylor.edu.
