Elon Law’s new Entrepreneurship Speaker Series is designed to inform entrepreneurs about legal matters involved with creating startups and growing small businesses. The series will feature accomplished attorneys and law scholars on topics including business structures, finance, tax law and intellectual property.
Andy Haile, associate dean for academic affairs at Elon Law, said the new series aligned with Elon Law’s strengths in business law and the school’s emphasis on professional and community partnerships.
“One of the important roles of the law school is to contribute to the success of our community by collaborating with partners in legal, business, nonprofit and public sectors,” Haile said. “The Entrepreneurship Speaker Series joins a growing roster of business law programs and initiatives at Elon Law, including a Small Business & Entrepreneurship Clinic, a Business Fellows program, an online Business Law Journal and our ongoing relationship with the North Carolina Business Court.”
John Flynn, distinguished practitioner in residence at Elon Law and director of the law school’s Small Business & Entrepreneurship Clinic, said the Entrepreneurship Speaker Series would touch on a variety of issues important to emerging businesses.
“We have selected topics that can help new entrepreneurs navigate the legal and financial matters involved in starting and growing a business,” Flynn said. “We look forward to building knowledge, relationships and partnerships through the Entrepreneurship Speaker Series and we welcome all those interested in the series to attend.”
All Entrepreneurship Speaker Series forums are no cost and open to the public. Forums of the Entrepreneurship Speaker Series take place Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Room 206 at Elon Law, 201 N. Greene St., Greensboro, N.C.
