Clough wins Critical Language Scholarship

World Languages and Cultures student Madison Clough has won a second scholarship for study of Arabic language and culture.

Madison Clough, the recent recipient of the William Jefferson Clinton Scholarship at the American University in Dubai, has just been awarded a scholarship from the Critical Language Scholarship program, which is a fully funded intensive summer language program for American university students. 

The program is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs under the US State Department. Arabic is one of thirteen critical languages covered, and for summer 2014, the 7 possible sites for Arabic study are in Morocco, Jordan and Oman.  The website with further details is attached. http://www.clscholarship.org/  Professor Shereen Elgamal is Maddy’s faculty advisor.
