Winter Term 2004 theme selected

For the past four years a major group of Winter Term courses has been united under a common theme – first “ The Millennium” and then “Globalization and Culture.” An important goal of this program is the encouragement of innovative, engaged, and academically challenging classes.

For the 2004 Winter session, professors have chosen the theme “Living in a Global Age.” This theme offers both an engaged focus and an inclusiveness that can cover classes from all departments and schools of the university.

Classes offered in this program join in sponsoring major speakers and a student forum. They also sponsor the Global Village, an Academic Affairs/Student Life cooperative initiative with Heifer International, a major charitable organization promoting sustainable economics. A number of individual classes sponsor speakers and workshops.
