Students, faculty and staff can now log into Blackboard 6 to access course sites for the remainder of the 2003-2004 academic year. To log into Blackboard 6, each user must enter his or her Elon e-mail username and password. If you’ve forgotten your e-mail password, please call the Helpdesk at ext. 5200 or e-mail helpdesk@elon.edu.
For the time being, all organizational sites (mailing lists, fraternities and sororities, sites of departmental majors, etc.) remain on Blackboard 5. The new Blackboard 6 server has a link to Blackboard 5. These organizational sites will be transferred to Blackboard 6 within the coming weeks. If you manage an organizational site, please look for announcements in the near future.
The new Blackboard 6 system provides the university with an enhanced Web-based learning environment. A few of the new features in Blackboard 6 include separate management of academic and organizational sites, a new chat function that’s available in each site, and additional flexibility in the structure of sites.
