Fair Trade Coffee and Simply Biodegradable Product offerings

Be a responsible world citizen

Over the past academic year, Elon Dining Services has partnered with Students for Peace and Justice, a campus, student organization, on how to address human rights and environmental concerns through Dining Services. These areas of focus were researched through samplings, faculty, staff and student feedback, and through focus groups. As a result Fair Trade Certified Coffee was implemented in Elon Catering, Acorn Coffee Shop, Octagon Café and Danieley Center Commons. As of October 1, 2004, Elon Catering will also offer biodegradable, disposable service ware for catered events.

What is Fair Trade Certified Coffee?

Fair Trade seeks to improve the lives of coffee farmers by ensuring they receive a fair price for their harvest. This helps them afford basic healthcare, education and housing improvements. Every time you purchase Fair Trade Certified Coffee, you’re helping support a better way of life for the people who grow it.
