This past Tuesday night, members of the Elon community attended one of the yearly opening traditions, the hypnotist show by Tom DeLuca. With over 2,200 students and faculty members packing the gym, Tom wowed the crowd with his ability to hypnotize students. Roughly 10 students pulled at random were brought to stage to take part in the event. Students laughed so hard they shed tears as two young men showed their ballet skills. One other girl was so excited about the number 6 she couldn’t control herself.
All in all, the event, sponsored by Student Union Board (SUB), was another great success. Justin Kafka, Publicity Chair for SUB said it was the best show he has seen. The two hour show was opened by Twisted Measure, who put on another wonderful performance.
DeLuca said this one was of the best groups he has hypnotized in a long time.
