Dr. Hal Walker, associate professor of leisure and sport management, has been invited to serve on a panel and take part in a 2-hour symposium at the upcoming 46th Anniversary International Congress for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Sport and Dance (ICHPER.SD) World Congress, to be held Nov. 9-13 in Istanbul, Turkey. The symposium is titled, “The Future of Sport Management and the Professional Preparation Programs in Sport Management.”
Experts in Sport Management from Taiwan, Iran, Egypt and Turkey will join with Dr. William Stier, symposium moderator and Distinguished Service Professor, SUNY Brockport; Dr. Robert Case, Old Dominion University; and Walker from Elon. Walker’s presentation is titled: “Integrating theory and practice: internships, practica and experiential learning in sport management.” Partial funds to support travel to this international symposium are being generously provided by the Isabella Canon Centre for International Studies.
