Students, faculty and Staff: Notice re Deepfreeze on campus computers

Students, faculty and staff, please be aware of Deepfreeze that is installed on all computers on campus.

Deepfreeze deletes all files and downloaded programs daily and sometimes runs automatically. As a friendly reminder, save your work to one of the following to minimize loss, especially to avoid any data loss during finals time:

1. Use Network Storage (Sign in with your e-mail username and password under AS domain into any computer and use your free 500MB or larger alloted space to save your work.)

2. Save work in your digital blackboard dropbox.

3. Save to a USB/Jump/Flash Drive. You can buy these storage devices at your local Best Buy or Campus Technology Store by Subway.

4. Write to a CD-RW or save to a floppy disk constantly.

Please do NOT save your personal and/or academic files to any computer, for you will risk losing your work permanently. Deepfreeze cannot be undone and work cannot be recovered once the program initializes.

Visit the link below to elite’s Web site to learn more about network storage, or stop by Belk 116 to talk to an elite student for more information.

Thanks and have a great ending to Fall Semester!
