Elon University Percussion Ensemble in concert, April 11

The Elon University Percussion Ensemble will present student arrangements of well-known themes during its spring concert at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 11 in Yeager Recital Hall, located in the Center for the Arts on campus. The concert, under the direction of Jon Metzger, is free and open to the public.

The ensemble will perform arrangements of soundtracks, including Inspector Gadget and Super Mario Brothers. A new six-movement work by Metzger, “Stories,” will also be performed. It is written for and features Ken Lee, baritone, and Charles Hogan, piano, together with a student percussion quartet of Erin Ashley, Ben Newsome, Justin Seifts and Carol Stewart.

The concert will also feature an arrangement of Billy Holiday’s “God Bless the Child.”
