Class of 2008 Study Abroad grants

Do you need money to help pay for your study abroad? The Sophomore Class Acorn Society is raising money to support fellow classmates who need financial assistance in order to study abroad. All members of the Class of 2008 are eligible to apply!

In order to apply you must submit an essay by April 28, 2006. The size of the grants awarded will be determined by the number of donations. All essays will be kept confidential. Write your name only on the back page of your essay. You do not have to be an Acorn Society member to apply. The grant may only be used for an Elon-sponsored Centre for International Studies course.

Requirements:

Member of the Class of 2008

You must be a full-time student and be admitted to a study abroad course

Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better

Essay:

Why do you want to study abroad? How will you apply this experience upon your return to Elon? Why do you think you are deserving of this grant from the Acorn Society? Please include your name on the back of the last page of your essay.

Your essay should be double spaced and no longer than 4 pages. Please submit to the Office of the Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students, Alamance 109, Campus Box 2188, by April 28, 2006. Please contact Brian O’Shea with questions at 278-7220 or boshea@elon.edu
