Elon students win top BEA research honors

Two Elon students took first place in the Broadcast Education Association Research Division competition. The awards were announced at the annual BEA convention in Las Vegas April 27-29.

Winning first place in the Student Media Advisors
undergraduate research paper competition were
Montesia Deas and Monica Salvo. Their paper was titled “The Presence of Diversity in College Radio at Historically Black Colleges, Women’s Colleges, and Native American Colleges in the United
States.”
