Spray serves as co-editor for fourth book on tropical forests

Sharon Spray, associate professor of political science, has published a book titled “Tropical Deforestation” with co-editor Matthew Moran, who teaches biology at Hendrix College.

The volume is a multidisciplinary approach to understanding the issues surrounding tropical forests, including the perspectives of biology, ecology, geography, biochemistry, economics and international relations.

This is Spray’s fourth book in a series that she and Moran have edited on “Exploring Environmental Challenges,” published by Rowman and Littlefield. The others in the series are on “Global Climate Change,” “The Loss of Biodiversity,” and “Wetlands.” Each focuses on the concepts, methods and research approaches utilized in the study of environmental challenges.

Spray has taught in the Political Science Departmernt and the Environmental Studies Program since 1999.
