The Epsilon Alpha chapter of Pi Kappa Phi at Elon recently won the Mixson Award, presented annually to the fraternity’s top national chapter on campuses with less than eight NIC fraternities. This is the third time the Elon chapter has received the award. Elon’s Epsilon Alpha chapter has 79 members, making Pi Kappa Phi the largest fraternity on campus. In 2005-06, the Elon chapter initiated more than 90 percent of its associate members. The chapter has a cumulative 3.2 grade point average.
The Elon chapter is active in several philanthropic and community service projects. Last year, the chapter raised almost $6,000 for Push America, the fraternity’s national philanthropic effort.
The Mixson Award is named for one of the three founding fathers of Pi Kappa Phi.
