The Princeton Review names Elon one of “The Best 361 Colleges”

Elon University is named one of the nation’s best-administered schools in the 2007 college guide published by The Princeton Review. “The Best 361 Colleges” rankings are based on a survey of 115,000 college students (about 300 per campus) across the nation. The guide was released Aug. 21.

Elon is ranked #3 on the Princeton Review’s list titled “School Runs Like Butter.” In addition, Elon’s campus is ranked the 12th most beautiful in the nation. This is Elon’s third appearance on Princeton Review’s beautiful campus listing.

Elon students responding to the survey said the university focuses on “teaching you about your role as a global citizen and enabling you to do experiential learning, not only through discussion-based classes but also through opportunities to study abroad, undergrad research, internships, and involvement in a variety of student organizations.”

Students said they like Elon’s size and praised study abroad opportunities, which are termed “phenomenal.”

They also praised opportunities for service. “There are so many students involved in so many cool things, and they’re very passionate about what they’re doing,” one student said. “Many people are involved in service work and are specifically passionate about eradicating AIDS.”

This is Elon’s fourth year in The Princeton Review’s guide, which is among the best selling publications that assist prospective students and parents in making their college choice.
