Carol Smith, associate professor of physical education, helped lead a pre-conference workshop called “Creating a NASPE STARS ‘Program of Excellence’ Portfolio” at the Southern District of the American Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Annual Conference this month in Chattanooga, Tenn. Also participating were S. Stork, T. Kilmer, U. Valdes, K. Gerlich and S. Lowell. The workshop lasted for four hours on Wednesday, Feb. 14.
Smith was also elected as member-at-large to COPEC (Council on Physical Education for Children) as the Southern District representative for the next three years. Additionally, she served as one of the North Carolina delegates to the Southern District Representative Assembly in Chattanooga for 2007.
