Biology major Kali Marquardt wins award at NCAS meeting

Kali Marquardt, a senior biology student, won a first place John Bowley Derieux Research Award at the 104th Annual North Carolina Academy of Science meeting at East Carolina University (March 30-April 1, 2007). Her oral presentation was titled “Isolation of Antibiotic Resistance Organisms in Local Farm Soils” in the “Biotechnology” category. Students who win this prize are invited to submit a publication and upon acceptance, are given 3 free pages in the publication.

Kali will be attending Georgia Institute of Technology Prosthetics and Orthotics graduate program this coming fall.
