Levesque presents at Association for Psychological Science Conference

Maurice Levesque, Professor of Psychology, and Gregory Haenel, Associate Professor of Biology presented on their interdisciplinary team-taught Evolutionary Psychology course at the APS Teaching Institute. The presentation included information on the development, goals, and discovery-based structure of the course as well as the challenges of team-teaching an interdisciplinary course.

Levesque also presented research titled “Male Body Image Dissatisfaction, Psychological Health, and Masculinity” at the regular APS conference. The research, which was conducted with former Elon students Adrienne Helmick, Christopher Woods, and Megan Simmons, examined the links between male body dissatisfaction, adherence to negative masculine norms, and high risk alcohol behavior.
