Tony Sawyer, director of bands, participated in the 5th Annual National Collegiate Marching and Athletic Band Symposium May 31 – June 2 sponsored by the College Band Directors National Association, held at Michigan State University. Over 70 College Marching Band Directors from around the country were in attendance including directors from Notre Dame, Univ. of Illinois, Univ. of Michigan, Univ. of Florida, Univ. of North Carolina, Ohio State, NC State, Colorado State, Wake Forest, and many more, including Elon. The three day symposium was set up five years ago by the directors at Ohio State to be a forum for sharing between college marching band directors in the U.S. Next year’s event will be held in Seattle at the University of Washington.
