Elon graduate named chair of N.C. Teaching Fellows Commission

John Delano Denning, 1993 Elon Teaching Fellow graduate, was recently appointed by Lt. Governor Beverly Perdue as chair of the N.C. Teaching Fellows Commission. John graduated from Elon College with a degree in History and Political Science. After graduating from Exeter University in Exeter, England with a degree in Public Administration, he taught history at Wake Forest-Rolesville High School in Wake Forest, N.C. He is currently Senior Program Manager of the All Kinds of Minds Institute in Chapel Hill.

The N.C. Teaching Fellows Commission develops the policies and regulations governing the Teaching Fellows Program. The Teaching Fellows Program provides a $6,500 per year scholarship for four years to 500 outstanding North Carolina high school seniors. Elon University is one of eighteen teacher education campuses in North Carolina with Teaching Fellows programs.
