Byrd spending summer working in India

Stephen Byrd, assistant professor of education, is working in Madurai, India from June 28 to July 10. Byrd is again working with teachers, staff and administrators at the Bethshan Special School for the Mentally Retarded in Madurai, Tamil Nadu in south India. This year, Byrd is giving 20 lectures on special education issues focusing on learning disabilities; effective teaching, learning, and assessment; behavioral issues, and the Christian view of disability.

Byrd will also give five addresses to theological students from a number of Indian states gathering at the Pillar Retreat Center outside of Madurai. He will be addressing the life of prophet Daniel from the Old Testament.
