Romer Wins national award

Jane W. Romer, associate professor of French at Elon University, was named “Chapter Administrator of the Year” in the category of large chapter by the American Association of Teachers of French for her service to the National French Contest. Lisa Narug, Director of the National French Contest, announced the award on July 14 at the national conference of AATF (American Association of Teachers of French) in Baton Rouge, La. The award was based on longevity of service and increased enrollments for four years out of seven. On behalf of Romer, who was not present, Kathleen Rhodes, president of the North Carolina chapter of the AATF, accepted the award and the plaque for presentation to Romer at the Oct. 6 meeting of NC-AATF / FLANC in Winston-Salem, N.C.
