Myers family establishes scholarship in honor of son

Elon parents Jim and Becky Myers of West Palm Beach, Fla., have established a scholarship in honor of their son, senior Jay Myers. The Myers Family Endowed Scholarship in Business will assist deserving business majors with financial need.

Jay Myers is a business and finance major in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business. He is involved in several organizations at Elon, including Sigma Chi fraternity and the Elon Interfraternity Council. He is a founding member of Pi Sigma Epsilon, a national sales marketing and management fraternity. Jay has also studied abroad twice, including a senior year trip to Peru.

Jim and Becky Myers are active members of Elon’s Parents Council, often hosting events at their home for new Elon families. They are dedicated donors to the university, making regular gifts to the Parents Fund and the endowment.

The Myers family created the scholarship to help make a business education available to a greater number of gifted students. The merit-based award will be presented to business students who exhibit strong financial need and excellence in leadership, character and intellect.
