Davis named assistant vice president for development at Elon

Charles E. “Chuck” Davis has been named assistant vice president for development at Elon University. Davis has been a staff member in Elon’s Office of Institutional Advancement for four years, serving as senior director of individual giving.
    As assistant vice president, Davis reports to Nan Perkins, vice president for institutional advancement, and is responsible for all major gift fundraising. He also directs all activities related to Elon’s upcoming comprehensive fundraising campaign.
    “Chuck Davis has brought a wealth of experience and knowledge to Elon’s fundraising efforts,” Perkins says. “He is focused on Elon’s mission and does an excellent job in helping alumni, parents and friends of the university understand how their gifts to Elon can make a difference.”
    Before joining the advancement staff at Elon, Davis worked as interim president of the Medical Foundation at the Division of Health Sciences at East Carolina University. He also worked as the university’s director of development for the Brody School of Medicine.
    Prior to his tenure at ECU, he served North Carolina State University as director of development and outreach for the graduate school. He began his career in development over 13 years ago having served several non-profit organizations prior to his time in higher education. 
    Davis earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Furman University in Greenville, S.C. He lives in Burlington with his wife, Flora Hall and their two young daughters.
