David Morton, Elon Web site manager, presented a live webinar on Oct. 5 for HigherEdExperts.com, explaining Elon’s success in planning and building E-Squared, the university’s online social network.
The title of the webinar was “DIY social networking website: how to plan and build from scratch your own successful social networking web application.”
The webinar was viewed by over 100 people from 52 colleges and universities worldwide, including Harvard, MIT, Duke, University of Edinburgh, University of Technology, Sydney and Tokyo Institute of Technology.
E-Squared includes about 6,000 members in the Elon community, including alumni, parents, students and faculty/staff. E2 was launched last May and has drawn attention from many colleges and universities that are interested in developing social networks for their communities.
