Withdrawal information for students not planning to return to elon

Students planning to withdraw from the university at the end of the Fall Semester should plan to complete a brief application and exit interview during normal office hours beginning Dec. 6, 2006. Students will pick up a copy of the withdrawal application in the Office of Student Development (Moseley 206) , complete a brief exit interview with a Student Life staff member, and get applicable office signatures. Withdrawal interviews are conducted on a walk-in basis (no appointments).

• All end of semester withdrawals will be processed after final course grades are posted on Dec. 14.

• Students who plan to transfer and need a final transcript sent to another college should make arrangements with the Registrar’s Office (Alamance 104). Please note that academic suspensions supersede end-of-semester withdrawals. Sometimes students think that if they withdraw the last week of class or once exams begin, they will get “W”’s from their courses and avoid academic penalty, including suspension. This is not the case and if students are academically suspended at the end of the term, they are still suspended even if they withdrew at semester’s end.

Students who withdraw at this point will get “W”’s if they are passing the course at time of the withdrawal or an “F” if they are not passing the course as if the effective date of the withdrawal. The exception are those students who will are in the process of receiving medical withdrawals. We do have a few students who have medical withdrawals pending, but we should have those processed and cleared by November 28. We will notify their faculty once those are processed and the Registrar will enter grades of “WD”.
