The Tar Heel chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) has given John Guiniven, associate professor of communications, the Spinks Award, the organization’s highest honor. Guiniven received the award at the annual PRSA gala Jan. 10.
Other awards by the chapter included the following:
John Swofford, commissioner of the Atlantic Coast Conference, was given the Effective Communicator Award.
Donnie Turlington of Bouvier Kelly, who is also the vice president
of professional development of the local PRSA chapter, was given the
Leadership Award.
Jessica Knight of The Woodbine Agency, received the Outstanding PR
Award for work she did on the Hanes Steadman Sportshirt campaign.
