SGA constitutional amendments

On Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, the Student Government Association passed four proposed constitutional amendments that must be approved by a majority of the student body before coming into affect for the 2008-2009 legislative year. The current SGA Constitution may be seen online at http://org.elon.edu/sga/constitution07.html.
The four approved amendments are as follows:
 
AMENDMENT 1: Be it Here Enacted: That Article I; section A; subsection a; of the Student Government Association Constitution read as follows: Be enrolled as a full time undergraduate student of Elon University or a part-time second semester senior.
 
AMENDMENT 2: Be it Here Enacted: That Article VI; section C; subsection d; subsection ii; of the Student Government Association Constitution read as follows: Shall be responsible for conducting and evaluating surveys regarding student body opinion on campus issues as mandated in the senate bylaws each year.
 
AMENDMENT 3: Be it Here Enacted: That Article VI; section B; and Article VII; section D; subsection e; subsection i; of the Student Government Association Constitution be amended as follows: the words “Press Secretary” be amended to read “Secretary of Public Relations.”
 
AMENDMENT 4: Be in Here Enacted: incorrect grammar and punctuation be corrected in Article VII; section D; subsection g and Article XII; section B. If you have any questions. Please send them to jbateman2@elon.edu.
