3:45 – 5:15 p.m.

Writing for
Non-Readers

Today’s
readers are overloaded, overstimulated, impatient, and easily bored. Want them
to actually read what you write?  Here’s how to modernize your material:
turn those long, dull news and feature stories into smarter, shorter, more
interactive packages.

7 – 8:30 p.m.

Tomorrow’s Reader,
Yesterday’s Newspaper

An entertaining, visual overview of current trends (good and
bad) in writing, editing and design — and a discussion of what readers want
(and don’t want) in their newspaper, based on extensive surveys and focus-group
testing.
