to help defray the cost of studying abroad
Eligibility: Any Elon
University student who will be studying abroad through Elon or an Elon-approved
Program during the 2008-2009 academic year (Summer or Fall ‘08, Winter or
Spring ‘09).
How to enter: Submit a typed, 6 page double-spaced paper plus bibliography on the following topic to the
Isabella Cannon Centre (first floor of Carlton
Building):
Select an environmental or socio-economic problem which is noteworthy in the country
In which you intend to study abroad.* Then describe a sub-region of the country
(state, province, the northwest, in the desert areas, etc.) in which the environmental or socio-economic problem is especially pronounced and explain why this is the case.
*if you expect that you will be participating in a winter term program which
Includes several countries, select one for your essay.
Include your name, email address, campus box, major/minor(s), and year of graduation at the top of your essay.
Deadline: 10am, Thursday, April 3
The winner will be announced by May 1.
