Bateman Team Finishes in Top 10

The Elon University Bateman Team recorded a top 10 finish in the 2008 competition, which featured entries from close to 100 teams representing 76 colleges and universities. 

This year’s team consists of HaleyHennes, Alex McLean, Sara Pollock, Tori Smith and Allison White. Last year, theteam placed in the final three.

 

The three finalists this year areTexas Christian, Loyola of New Orleans and Cal State Long Beach.  Lastyear’s winner, the University of Georgia, finished in the top 10, along withthe University of Maryland and Washington State.

Bateman is a national case study competition establishedby the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) in 1973 to give universitystudents an opportunity to exercise the analytical skills and mature judgmentrequired for public relations problem-solving. The 2008 Bateman case study wasChevrolet’s Safe Kids Buckle Up program devoted to preventing childhoodinjuries among children ages 14 and younger. 

 

The Bateman competition is a project of the PublicRelations Student Society of America (PRSSA), which was founded by PRSA in1968. The student organization has grown to 9,600 members and 280 chapters atcolleges and universities in 43 states. Elon has one of the 10 largest PRSSAchapters in the nation.
