Elon Law students selected for N.C. summer internships

Four Elon Law students are among 100 North Carolina college, graduate and law students selected for 10-week summer internships with state agencies this summer. They are Lila Riley, Stephanie Fabricius, Melanie Crenshaw and David Morrow. Read this note for details..

Lila Riley will intern in the Court of Appeals with Judge Douglas McCullough, Raleigh. Stephanie Fabricius has been selected to work with Judge Ann Marie Calabria in the Court of Appeals. Two other Elon Law students will work at the N.C. Supreme Court. They are David Morrow, a clerk for Justice Patricia Timmons-Goodson, and Melanie Crenshaw, a Clerk of Court Intern.

“This outstanding group of students will gain hands-on experience in
dozens of diverse jobs across state government this summer,” Gov. Mike Easley
said in a statement. “These opportunities help to prepare our students
for the challenges of the global marketplace and encourage public
service.”

The N.C. State Government Internship Program, in its
38th year, is coordinated by the Youth Advocacy and Involvement Office
in the Department of Administration. This year, 586 students from 70
counties and 109 post-secondary institutions applied for internships.
