The article discussed the fact that more 3,000 press releases cross the news wires each business day and just as media companies are slashing thousands of staff positions and reporters are more pressed for time, Ward-Johnson and Guiniven are examining the ethical responsibilities of marketers and public relations professionals as they utilize more technological tools.

The article included interviews with Ward-Johnson and Guiniven, as well as professionals from Triad public relations firms who say they debate how to use the new tools and whether they really are effective.
