Freshmen arrive for “Adventures in Leadership”

Adventures in Leadership, a two-week summer program sponsored by the Center for Leadership and designed for incoming students, begins this week as 32 freshmen arrive at Elon University to take part in the leadership development project.

Students (pictured from 2007) visit West Virginia as part of the Adventures in Leadership program.
Students get to know each other during the Elon challenge course, rock climbing in West Virginia, whitewater rafting down the New River and through other team-oriented activities.

The program allows new students to ease into college life, make new friends and enjoy the experience of a lifetime while seeing firsthand the breathtaking scenery of West Virginia.

Adventures in Leadership is led by junior Maria Wyka, a program coordinator, and eight sophomore facilitators: Abby Bassett, Matt Reidy, Beth Cooper, Jordan McDonough, Kate Shirley, Alex Schreiner, Amanda Fish, and Amy McLeod.

Mallory Anderson, director of the Center for Leadership, advises the program.
